Teige: [standing in the doorway, looking hungover] Morning there, Parker.

Parker: [seated at a table, reading a tabloid-sized periodical; she waves Teige over] Oh good, you're finally up--c'mere and read this. Someone's head was left out in Escala's plaza last night. You went out, did you and Hawk see anything--

[She pauses in surprise once she actually looks at Teige. Teige looks unpleasantly startled; the cut tip of his right ear is obvious.]

Parker: ...What the hell happened to your ear?

[Much explanation later...]

Teige: ...and so after talking it over with Hawk, I've decided to go back to school to be a therapist for R.I.T. instead.

Parker: [smiling politely while thinking furiously about how she'd told Teige to do this all along but he wouldn't listen until Hawk told him the same thing, how stubborn men are and how glad she is that she's gay] Oh. Well that sounds really great.
