Hawk turned around in his seat to watch as Parker approached Teige, her hair standing on end nervously. He turned to her with a smile that faded somewhat as she spoke quietly to him. They were too far away for Hawk to hear them, and anyway Teige had to lean in and tilt one ear towards Parker just to hear.

Someone tapped on Hawk's elbow just then and said, "You make a pretty good wingman, huh?"

Hawk glanced over, surprised, to see the blonde man who had bumped into him outside, perched on Parker's vacated seat. His face was flushed and he propped his head on his elbow, and he grinned.

"Sorry," he said, "bad pun. Anyway, they look pretty happy. Don't you think?"

Somewhat taken off-guard, Hawk looked towards Parker and Teige again. Teige looked rather surprised, but then broke out into a grin, taking Parker by the elbow and bumping his horned head against hers gently. Hawk leaned back slightly, relieved, and the blonde man spoke up again.

"So, what about you?" he asked. "You free now?"

Hawk looked at him, at his hand resting next to his mouth, and hesitated.

"A tattoo," Parker said, her claws hooked on Teige's shirt collar, carefully pulling his shirt back to peer down at his back. Green fire glittered over his human shape as she released his shirt.

"A spell," he corrected her. The fire caught, and he was a horned goblin again. "Smack betweeen my shoulders. I give it a charge every so often, and it does me the testosterone. No needles required."

They'd moved to a quiet corner of the bar, by the unused jukebox and a window through which the weird green light of the night outside was falling.
