Liya wasn't really listening to Vlad and Yoshi as they talked. Almost idly, looking a the statue, she thought of bright lights and smudges of color, a wash of noise and someone far away telling her in an echoing voice that she could fix this.

"Then we need to find you a healer, or a doctor," Vlad was saying. In response to Yoshi's silence, he added, "I know, I know. And of course the only non-spirit clinic in town just blew--"

"I tried Qefer already," Yoshi said shortly.

"Oh?"

"Last summer. They didn't have anyone who would help. Liya and Helly are still the only healers who will help me."

This last part brought Liya out of her thoughts somewhat, but she was still slow to react.

"Wait," she said, startled, as Vlad said back, frowning. "We are? Why's that?"

Yoshi rolled her eyes. "Human healers won't see me because I'm half okuri-inu," she said. "Monster healers won't see me because I'm half human. Spirit healers won't see me because I'm not a spirit."

Liya made a face. "That's it??" she said with disdain. "But that's stupid!"

"Maybe I can find someone in Enodia," Vlad said thoughtfully. "If you don't mind traveling to another world to see your doctor."

"I don't mind!" Yoshi said quickly, her eyes widening. "Please."

Vlad shrugged. "Then I'll look," he said. "You just hang in there and think about what to tell Shinobu."

Yoshi's face fell a little. "Sh-Shinobu," she repeated, as though this thought hadn't ocurred to her. "Ah. What do I even--"

Vlad waved this off. "Whoa, don't panic, okay? It'll be fine. Now," he added, "Let's finally get you two home."
