Aries had been ignoring all of this, busy inspecting the arm that no longer worked. It drooped limply, held up by his good hand, a grainy smoke issuing from thin fissures in his bare hand. He started, though, when the truck's horn began blaring and did not stop. Wheeling around, he saw that Kei had flipped himself over on the hood of the truck and batted Hawk off of him like it was nothing.
"My truck!" Aries shouted over the noise. "You jackass--someone'll hear!!"
The force of Kei's paw had clawed open gashes in Hawk's stomach and flung him against the hangar wall back-first. As he hit the floor, the crook of one wing knocked into something else--a fire axe that had been leaning up against the wall beside the outer door, and which now had tipped over, laying across Hawk's wing.
He fumbled for it, pulling his wing out from under himself, and looked up to see Kei looming over him with one huge paw lifted. As Kei slammed his paw down, hooking the claws into Hawk's thigh, Hawk twisted around to swing the axe--
--and it slammed squarely into the side of Kei's head, driving the hand-length spike opposite the blade straight into his temple.
For a moment, Kei froze, letting his huge head sag sideways to press against the hangar wall, looking merely surprised. Then a low growl bubbled up in his throat, and that turned into a screaming, wordless roar.
