Why Shinobu isn't commuting between Enodia and Escalus during the study:
Clerk: < This form is missing your Dean's signature. >
Shinobu: [pointing angrily at a spot on the packet of paper the clerk is looking at] < It's right there. >
Clerk: < I don't think this is the Dean's signature. >
Shinobu: < They've put their seal next to it. >
Clerk: < I'm not familiar with this seal, so I can't say for certain it's legitimate. >
Shinobu: < You saw this same packet when I came through yesterday!! You're required to be a truth seer to work here, right? It's their seal! It's their signature! I am saying it, you know I am telling the truth! >
Clerk: < All I can tell is it's true as far as you know. I'll have to send a courier out to the University to verify it. Please have a seat. All our couriers are busy at the moment, so expect it to take an hour or so. Ah, but also, this desk closes in 20 minutes. >
[Shinobu begins swelling up furiously with every new thing the clerk says, until she's lost all semblance of control. This turns out to be an imagined scenario by three people sitting at a table, all in different stages of resignation.]
Shinobu's boss: [grimacing] < ...Yes...it will definitely happen like that. >
Shinobu's boss's boss: [covering their hand with their mouth, shooting a look sideways at the admin] < Mhm. The less she interacts with the border, the better, I think. >
The admin that will have to do all the paperwork: [writing something down] < ...I'll request the longest trip length, then. >
