Helly's brow knit in concern. "I'm sorry, my dear," they said gently. "Please forget that I asked."
Liya rested her chin on her arms and didn't answer.
Helly was quiet for a moment, and then said, "Yoshi?"
Yoshi jumped. "Ah," he said, "yes?"
"She's well sedated by now," Helly said amiably, nodding to the laar, whose ears Yoshi was stroking absently. "Why not leave me to healing her? Perhaps you could show Liya around the Palace?"
Yoshi's jaw fell open. "Eh?"
Liya lifted her head again curiously, and found Yoshi looking at her out of the corner of his weirdly colored eyes with apprehension.
"Er, Helly," he said hastily, "Y lumd c'muv yl dhadt yt tuuth e fuol ylei--"
Helly blinked. "Yd yt? Fi?" they asked. "Tha teydh thyr uvm tydhnrin vet e henldraahl. Emd Shinobu yt enviet teirin iu thuonl heva lryamlt iur uvm efa."
Liya pursed her lips against a surge of resentment.
"Iu vynn da lyma," Helly concluded, seeming to have forgotten Liya temporarily.
"At, duudh..."
Liya got to her feet then, her scarred knees groaning, and brushed stray bits of hay from her shirt. Yoshi and Helly both shut up then, looking at her with some surprise.
"You know, I kinda would like to see the Palace," she said matter-of-factly. "I can go myself, though. It's no big deal."
