Hawk had only just sat down on the cooler, opening his wings and smoothing his hair out of his face, when Teige spoke quite suddenly to his left.

"A'right, Sunshine." He'd pulled the chair out from under Hawk's wing and was now dumping the water that had collected in its seat out. The rain had already soaked through his shirt, showing the lines of his undershirt beneath. He sat, water dripping from his curly mane, his headlamp eyes narrowed in the dark. "Why're we sitting out here in the cold 'n rain?"

Hawk rolled his eyes and lifted his wing, angling it over Teige to get him out of the rain. "I like the noise."

Teige looked at the long feathers curled over his head, and then said quite plainly, "Everyone's scared, you know."

Hawk glanced at him, surprised.

"Enodia's closed its ports before," Teige went on. "It's been closed to Earth for years and years now--that's why I ended up stranded in Port Siena, instead. We all got a lot riding on getting to Enodia...no one'd blame you for being afra--"

"No, we'll get there," Hawk interrupted. Taken aback, Teige stared at him; he frowned. "If a boat won't take us, we'll fly. They'd have to shoot me outta the sky, to keep us out. That ain't what worries me."
